Product Introduction
Now there is a better way to guarantee readable bar codes and conformance with ISO/ANSI standards. BST Pro Mark® offers a wide range of laser bar code verification systems, designed to effectively and efficiently manage bar code quality in real time – both continuous and sequential – either on line or off line. No one in the world offers more bar code solutions at such reasonable prices.
On-Line: Our LS series provides on or off line verification of bar codes to full ISO standards at normal press speeds. LS series systems were designed for effective management of bar codes produced via flexo, gravure, offset, ion deposition, thermal or digital printing. |
The LS systems perform 100 percent inspection in real time at full press speed, identifying bar code issues as they develop. When quality falls below user-defined levels, warning lights trigger an alarm or even an ink jet printer to mark the bad codes.
Because they produce audit trails and calibrate to a known standard, the LS200 and LS300 systems readily conform to TQM or ISO9000 quality systems.
The sequential data base option allows tracking of missing, duplicates and out of sequence bar codes and the reporting function allows you to print a wide range of reports and sequentially numbered carton and pallet labels– including Certificates Of Compliance – as needed for each job or run. |
Off-Line: The DM series is designed for high speed use on slitters, rewinders or presses, and are equally effective for filling machines.
Custom: We can also provide custom solutions for customers with users with more complex or sophisticated verification needs. We have designed and installed SMS series systems that track hundreds of millions of sequential bar codes, verifying each roll, box, pallet and job – and accounting for every single bar code produced, with zero tolerance. |

Unlike many other quality attributes, bar code print quality can change dramatically and within a very short period of time. For example, changing impression setting can easily change bar codes from A grades to F grades in seconds. On line bar code verification is the only way to insure that all bar codes in a roll meet acceptable quality standards. |
LS100 BAR CODE VERIFICATION SYSTEM
The LS100 is an online, ISO/ANSI grade bar code verifier which is extremely easy to use and far more cost effective than hand held verifiers. The system is a completely integrated inspection device, which not only includes an analog bar code scanner, but an advanced DSP processor, able to acquire scans and perform ISO 15416 (bar code inspection criteria) compliant analysis that meets the ISO 15426 standard (bard code verifier conformance).
Each unit comes complete with a laser scanner, alarm tree, traverse for mounting the scan head and integrated calibration and operational software – everything you need to be up and running fast. |

LS200 BAR CODE VERIFICATION SYSTEM
The LS200 is an extension of the LS100 model, allowing verification of 100% of your bar codes. The LS200 can have up to eight laser bar code scanners, and includes a powerful set of real-time graphic trend reporting and analysis tools and full print reporting.. Using a powerful scan verification engine, the LS200 compiles a database that records each job for later review or reporting. A full series of online, offline and printable reports are available.
This product is fully compliant with all ISO15416 and ANSI 3.X parameters, and, like all our laser bar code systems, analyzes all required ISO/ANSI parameters, and adds an additional parameter useful for printers - narrow web bar growth. The LS200 supports the same bar code types as the LS100.
This model features offline troubleshooting tools, 600 scan per second scan head speed, and is expandable from one to twelve scan heads per system. It is capable of scanning a maximum bar code length of eight inches, and the easy 30 second calibration is automatically managed by the software and will notify the operator every 90 days, when re-calibration is necessary. |
By adding the optional sequential data base manager, the LS200 can also be a powerful tool for managing sequential bar codes. This function allows the system to verify 100% of sequential bar codes with full reporting of all missing, duplicate and out of sequence bar codes.
The standard LS200 system includes one to 8 laser bar code scanners, an industrial grade PC, 17” monitor, keyboard, mouse, external device interface, tower alarm, power supply, traverse and software. The laser scanner mount is easily oriented for either ladder or picket fence bar codes without the use of tools.
The system has an optional Touch Screen Interface, remote modem troubleshooting and diagnostics, and a sequential data base manager.
The LS200 was designed for easy self installation without requiring a BST Service technician. |

LS300 BAR CODE VERIFICATION SYSTEM
If you want assured bar code quality to prevent fines for nonconforming codes, the LS300 uses one of the fastest laser scanners available. With a super fast scan time of 1.66 millisecond, the LS300 is capable of web speeds up to 1000 fpm. The unique scan head technology employed is capable of reading and verifying many different bar code types and lengths up to 2 ½ inches. Four programmable outputs per scan head are user definable to trigger alarms, stop the press or control an ink jet printer to mark bad bar codes. |
The LS300 has our most comprehensive and sophisticated reporting capability and has an instant “scan reflectance profile” tool, used for diagnosing and correcting bar code problems.

DM400 BAR CODE VERIFICATION SYSTEM
The DM400 Data Match System is designed for use on slitters, rewinders and filling lines. It ensures that all bar codes can be scanned and that all bar codes are identical, thus eliminating rolls with multiple or incorrect bar codes, or filling of a bag with the incorrect or improperly labeled product.
Using an ultra fast (2,000 scans/second) laser scanner, it is extremely simple to use, and operates with just two buttons. The user first presses the “Learn New Bar Code” button, then scans the desired bar code. The device learns that code, and will alert when subsequent scans do not match. When a mismatch or ‘no read’ occurs, the system will alarm and close a relay that can be used to stop the equipment, apply a cover up label or reject the product. |
This device has the ability to decode small truncated bar codes while maintaining a high production speed, and all major linear bar code types are supported. The system is expandable from one to ten scan heads per system. |
