BST Pro Mark Shark featured on Mark Andy at Elmhurst, Illinois Facility

BST Pro Mark and Mark Andy have continued an eighteen year tradition of cooperation and partnership by further enhancing their working relationship.
 BST Pro Mark’s demo Center in Elmhurst, Illinois now includes a Mark Andy VSR100 re-winder, and is used to demonstrate both companies equipment.  BST Pro Mark has mounted a Shark 100% inspection system with both black and white and color cameras on the Mark Andy VSR re-winder, and the combination is used to demonstrate the full capabilities of both the re-winder and the 100% inspection system.

 Shark was designed for use on a re-winder or narrow web press, and will perform 100% inspection of webs up to 20”, effectively identify missing print, reverse type fill-in, splash, spots, mis-register, hickeys, dirty print, web crease, haze, scrumming, smudges, streaks, hairs, die-cut variations and  incorrect matrix removal. Shark will effectively identify random and repeating defects and is suitable for use on all kinds of substrates, including highly reflective materials.

The VSR line of inspection re-winders are simple to use and easy to operate.  They are utilized for slitting and finishing of substrates and printed rolls. The left-to-right workflow concept allows the operator to ergonomically manage and see the entire inspection process. The proximity of the slitter cartridge to the rewind and the use of separator rings ensure effective winding of narrow slit webs. The addition of capacitive sensors and a razor slitter cartridge make the machine ideal for inspection of clear-on-clear labels.
