PECHINEY CEBAL DIVISION SELECTS BST Premius DEFECT DETECTION SYSTEMS
The Cebal Americas Division of Pechiney Plastic Packaging has selected BST Premius as the defect detection system of
choice for their manufacturing facility in Shelbyville, Tennessee.
Cebal is a leading US and global supplier of tubes for health, personal care and beauty products.
The company began analysis of defect detection technology last year, which included installation of a BST Premius inspection and
defect detection system. In addition to automatic print defect detection, the system performs automatic color monitoring and automatic
bar code verification. It was evaluated for performance, reliabililty, effectiveness at identifying various print defects, ease of use
and overall impact on productivity.
Reid Rucker, Lead Press Operator, played an integral part in the evaluation of the system and its performance. "Premius fits our needs
very well. It does a consistently reliable job identifying print defects and is a great product to use. The color monitoring function is
exceptional, alerting us when color has shifted even slightly and allowing corrective action on the fly. It has made consistent repeatable
color very easy to acheive. We also ran a series of tests on the bar code verification function and found that it performs beyond our
expectations"
Bill Zebick, Operations Manager in Shelbyville stated, "I take my hat off to BST Pro Mark®. They have worked closely with us on this project
and have delivered a product that produces results. They are a super company to work with."
Two more units for Shelbyville have been ordered from BST Pro Mark®, as well as an initial system for the Cebal facility in New Jersey.
Cebal is a division of Pechiney Plastic Packaging, a leading supplier of converted products, with 1900
