BST Pro Mark® INTRODUCES LS300 100% LASER BAR CODE VERIFICATION SYSTEM

BST Pro Mark® has introduced the LS300 laser bar code inspection system. The new product performs 100% inspection on a wide range of bar code types at normal press speed, both repeating and sequential, and insures conformance with ISO specification 15416.

The system allows printers to guarantee print quality of the bar codes produced via flexo, gravure, offset, ion depostion and digital printing processes.

The LS300 utilizes a unique high speed laser scan head which allows the system to perform 100% verification of ladder or picket fence orientated bar codes in real time including UPC, EAN, Code 128, Interleaved 2 of 5, 3 of 9 and is capable of others.

The system also provides real time analysis of all eight ISO quality parameters, and is capable of verifying bar codes at speeds up to 1800 feet per minute. The LS300 system inspects bar codes to the international ISO 15416 specification.

BST Pro Mark® has given the LS300 many unique features that make it an invaluable tool for printers. The product can inspect up to four lanes of the same bar code simultaneousely, tracks and displays bar width and shrinkage in real time, and has four programamble outputs per scan head, allowing customization of the alarm triggers.

The LS300 is a powerul on press tool. It’s capabilities begin with monitoring bar code quality and alerting the operator when corrective action is necessary. But even more useful, the LS300 unique analysis tools help diagnose and trouble shoot bar code problems and allow the press operator to pinpoint root causes, greatly speeding corrective action and reducing waste.

An optional motorized scan head, combined with the positional memory function allows the LS300 to be used to monitor multiple lanes of bar codes across a wide web. Programming is easily accomplished via the LS300 key pad.
The LS300 can also be used for sequential bar code applications. The system identifies and tracks missing codes, duplicates and incorrect sequences, and provides a detailed and itemized run report.

The LS300 also includes a comprehensive reporting package with data and graphic output and trend analysis. Because the system produces audit trails and calibrates to a known standard, it readily fits into TQM or ISO9000 quality systems.
