WHAT IS VIDEO INSPECTION?
Using video inspection, printing press operators can clearly see the images being produced by the press, in real time and with far greater detail than just the naked eye. A typical system includes a camera, electronics, and a monitor that together capture and display samples of the printed images. Video inspection cuts costs and scrap, and jumpstarts pressroom efficiency. In other words, it’s a vital tool for improving productivity.

WHAT IS WEB GUIDING?
Simply put, web guides hold continuous materials in exact position, preventing lateral movement as the web is processed. Systems consist of a sensor, correction device, actuator, and a controller (commander). Web guides are critical to quality control in:

Web Guiding Product Details
AUTOMATIC REGISTER CONTROL
Improved productivity, faster job set-up and reduced waste are the primary benefits of BST Pro Mark® automatic register control systems. We offer two distinct systems, one for commercial web offset presses (AR400) and another for Flexo CI presses (AR200).
Web Offset
Commercial web offset operators and business forms converters will benefit greatly with the AR400 automatic register control system on the press. The system uses 1/2mm micro dots that require significantly less space for register marks than competitive systems. The AR400 will not lose the register mark during press acceleration, so print stays in register from the very beginning to the very end of the run. Plus, the AR400 register mark can be printed in either direction on the web, with no effect on print.
Flexo C I. Pre-Register Control
Pre-Register control for Flexo CI presses offers a huge opportunity for cost reduction and productivity improvement. A study presented at the FTA Forum 2002 found that such systems can generate savings of $200,000 per year in a typical wide web film application.
This technology is available as a add on module for our Process management systems, providing make-ready register control integrated into the web inspection system.

BAR CODE VERIFICATION SYSTEMS
We pioneered on-press bar code verification systems in 1994. Today, we offer a range of solutions designed to allow you to print at full press speed with the peace of mind that your static or sequential bar codes are fully ISO/ANSI compliant.
Our stand alone laser based bar code verification systems inspect and verify a wide range of bar code symbologies, both repetitive and sequential. The system monitors bar codes in real time and alerts the operator as quality degrades. When quality needs improvement, the system even provides a list of possible causes and corrective actions. In addition to ISO/ANSI grading, the system plots trend lines in real time and generates reports at the end of each roll or job, ideal to submit with the finished product as evidence of compliance.
Bar Code System Details
We also offer bar code verification as an add-on module to our Premius Digital 3 Chip management system. Depending upon your needs, we can supply either a system that uses the inspection camera to read and verify bar codes, or, we can supply a stand alone laser based system, integrated into the operator interface. Either way, you rest assured that your bar code quality will always meet your customers requirements.
